When using the Dimensional Model to shape your data in your Data Warehouse or BI software, you’ll inevitably reach a point where you question the best way to solve certain problems. For instance, how do you handle process lead times? Or how do you deal with an organizational structure that you want to capture in a dimension, but it doesn’t have a uniform shape throughout?

This training is designed to take you a step further in addressing these challenges. By studying nine concrete problem cases, you’ll learn to recognize patterns for common analysis issues in organizations. In 1.5 days (one full day followed by a half-day), we will address these nine cases, combining theory and practice closely:

Analyzing the problem or question
Experiencing firsthand why a “standard” solution is insufficient
Learning and demonstrating the solution pattern
Applying the new pattern to a case study
Linking the solutions to your organization’s issues

Prior knowledge

To take the Advanced Dimensional Modeling course, it is important that you have a solid understanding of Dimensional Modeling and experience working with it. This foundational knowledge is covered extensively in the Dimensional Modeling (Basic) course, where you’ll not only learn the theory but also practice with real-world cases.
