In this training, you will learn how to model data in a Dimensional Model (also known as a “star schema”). By splitting your data into facts and dimensions, you create a clear model that aligns with your business processes. This allows you to easily answer a wide variety of questions. Dimensional Modeling is a standard technique for many Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions. It is also a best practice for newer data analysis tools like Power BI to model data using star schemas.

In this training, we will focus heavily on hands-on data modeling. Through practical case studies, we will practice effective modeling techniques. This ensures that you don’t waste valuable time in your daily analysis work due to incorrect modeling choices.

Who should attend?

The Dimensional Modeling training is suitable for designers, developers, and analysts who need to perform data analysis themselves. This basic training focuses on using dimensional models in BI tools and Data Marts.

Prior knowledge

Prior knowledge of a specific reporting tool, analysis tool, or database is not required: Dimensional Modeling can be applied in SQL databases, Power BI, and many other tools. To attend the Dimensional Modeling training, it is important that participants work with data themselves.
